The Central Regional Office of the Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC), headed by Madam Gifty Senoo, successfully organized a Sensitization Programme for Psychic Healers and Traditional Medicine Practitioners in selected communities within the Central Region on Tuesday, 13th May 2026, at the Awutu Bawjiase Community Centre.
The programme formed part of TMPC’s ongoing efforts to educate practitioners on the importance of registration, licensing, ethical practice, and compliance with the laws governing Traditional and Alternative Medicine practice in Ghana.
The Acting Registrar of TMPC, Dr. (MH) Yakubu Tobor Yusuf, delivered a welcome address and emphasized the need for practitioners to regularize their operations to ensure professionalism, public safety, and quality healthcare delivery within the Traditional Medicine sector, and encouraged the documentation of medicinal plants as part of best practices, their conservation, and heritage preservation for future reference.
The Greater Accra Regional Officer also presented on key registration and licensing procedures, reinforcing the importance of compliance across regions.
The programme further featured interactive question-and-answer sessions and closing remarks from leaders of the Psychic Healers Association.
TMPC remains committed to strengthening collaboration with practitioners and stakeholders to promote safe, effective, and well-regulated Traditional Medicine practice across Ghana.
