The Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC) joined other leading institutions at the 2nd World Health Expo Leaders Conference (WHX–Africa), hosted by the Ministry of Health under the distinguished patronage of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama. The high-level conference took place from 9th – 10th December 2025 at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra.
Held under the theme:
“Catalysing Africa’s Health Revolution Through Investment, Innovation, Impact and Infrastructure,”
the WHX–Africa conference convened Heads of State, Ministers of Health, global investors, CEOs, industry pioneers, development partners, and health-sector leaders to advance transformative dialogue and unlock investment opportunities across Africa’s health ecosystem.
TMPC was represented by Dr. Evelyn Abayaah-Issah, Ag. Administrative Secretary, and Dr. (MH) Benedict Owusu Yankyera, on behalf of the Ag. Registrar, Dr. (MH) Yakubu Tobor Yusuf. Their presence underscored TMPC’s mandate and ongoing contributions to strengthening Ghana’s Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) landscape. The conference provided a strategic platform for TMPC to engage with high-level stakeholders on: Integration of traditional medicine into national health systems, investment and innovation opportunities in the TCIM sector, regulatory collaboration and health infrastructure development, advancing quality, safety, and standards in traditional medicine practice.
The conference brought together Heads of State, Ministers of Health, CEOs, development partners, and key health-sector stakeholders to explore innovative solutions and investment opportunities for Africa’s health systems. Their collective participation reflects the country’s commitment to strengthening partnerships, improving health outcomes, and positioning Ghana as a leading hub for health innovation on the African continent.
TMPC participation is this program is to reaffirm its commitment to advancing the regulation and development of traditional and alternative medicine, supporting national health priorities through evidence-based TCIM integration, promoting safety, quality, and innovation within the traditional medicine sector, and engaging strategic partners to build a resilient and inclusive health ecosystem
