The Registrar Dr. (MH) YUSUF TOBOR YAKUBU of the Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC), together with the Administrative Secretary DR. EVELYN ABAYAAH-ISSAH has paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), MR. CHRISTIAN TETTEH YOHONU to discuss key compliance issues within the traditional and alternative medicine sector.
The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between TMPC and the Ghana Police Service to address non-compliance and curb the activities of recalcitrant practitioners who operate outside the regulatory framework. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding public health through strict enforcement of the Traditional Medicine Practice Act and promoting professionalism within the sector.
This engagement marks an important step toward improving regulatory oversight and ensuring that all practitioners meet the required standards for safe and credible traditional and alternative medicine practices in Ghana.
