The Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC) has adopted the 24-hour economy policy to improve efficiency and accessibility in the Traditional, Complementary, and Alternative Medicine (TCAM) sector. This policy ensures continuous service delivery, eliminating delays caused by traditional working hours.

To address these issues, TMPC has launched an online portal accessible 24/7. This digital system allows practitioners and their families to complete registrations, renewals, and other services at any time, reducing paperwork loss, service delays, and corruption risks. The move also eliminates the need for physical cash transactions, ensuring transparency.

TMPC, established under Act 575 by the Parliament of Ghana, regulates and promotes TCAM practices, which serve over 70% of the country’s population. However, for over 20 years, the sector has struggled with manual paperwork, cash payments, and fraudulent certifications. These challenges have hindered the smooth processing of licenses, certificates, and other essential services.

Beyond enhancing service delivery, this initiative will create job opportunities for the youth and introduce innovative solutions in the TCAM sector. TMPC remains committed to improving healthcare accessibility and efficiency in Ghana.
