The Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC) is pleased to announce that the Ag. Registrar, Dr. (MH) Yusuf Tobor Yakubu, has embarked on a significant industrial and regulatory trip to the People’s Republic of China. This strategic visit aligns with the Council’s efforts to strengthen international cooperation, deepen regulatory expertise, and learn from global best practices within the traditional and complementary medicine industry.
As part of the visit, the Registrar will engage with key institutions, regulatory agencies, and manufacturing facilities to study advanced systems in product quality assurance, practitioner training, and technological innovations that support safe and effective traditional medicine practice. These interactions are expected to generate valuable insights that will further refine TMPC’s regulatory frameworks and enhance the Council’s service delivery in Ghana.
The official itinerary includes an arrival in Chengdu, followed by working visits and meetings in Beijing, Chongqing, Changsha, Hefei, Changchun, and Guangzhou, before departure. Each city engagement is designed to expose TMPC leadership to diverse regulatory models, production environments, and institutional collaborations that can be adapted to strengthen Ghana’s traditional medicine sector.
This international mission underscores TMPC’s commitment to promoting excellence, upholding high professional standards, and positioning Ghana’s traditional and alternative medicine industry for greater global competitiveness.
Further updates will be shared upon the Registrar’s return.
